TLScontact Visa Application Centre starts to resume service of acceptance visa applications for the following visa types from August, 10th:

  • Long Stay D visas: for Students, for holders of a Single Permit (code B29 exclusively - Unique work permit) and visas for Family reunification (Art 40 Ter, Art 10 & 10bis) only;
  • Short Stay C visas: only for seafarers, for transport personnel, for re-entry visa of residents in Belgium, Visa in view of marriage or cohabitation and for Family Visit (exclusively spouse, children who are under the age of 21 or are dependent, dependent father/mother)*.

*Of EU citizens and citizens of the Schengen Associated States, or of third-country nationals who are long-term residents in Belgium.

Applicant for long stay visa (type D) are no longer obliged to submit fingerprints, therefore you can send your application by post. You should select this type of submission in your personal account on our web-site and complete all of the above steps. You will be required to provide a body temperature reading, wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines to enter our centre.

The Belgian Ministerial Decree of 30.06.2020 on urgent measures to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus imposes travel restrictions on Extra-Schengen travel to Belgium.

Every passenger to Belgium is obliged to complete a form prior to travel. On arrival in Belgium, the form must be handed over to the designated authorities at the border. This is a sanitary measure imposed by the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment. Further information can be found on the form itself.

IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION COVID-19: Temporary Restriction on Non-Essential Travel to the EU

Following the EU Commission’s decision on applying a travel restriction on non-essential travel from third countries into the EU+ area, no visa application will be accepted, nor decision taken unless for travellers with an essential function or need, including:

  • Healthcare professionals, health researchers, and elderly care professionals;
  • Frontier workers;
  • Transport personnel engaged in haulage of goods and other transport staff to the extent necessary;
  • Diplomats, staff of international organisations, military personnel and humanitarian aid workers in the exercise of their functions;
  • Passengers in transit;
  • Passengers travelling for imperative family reasons;
  • Persons in need of international protection or for other humanitarian reasons.

Those travellers must imperatively contact the Embassy via email for further instructions.

All TLS Belgian Visa Application Centres remain closed to all categories of applicants.

The temporary travel restriction should apply starting from March 16, 2020 until further notice. Any possible prolongation of this period should be assessed depending on further developments.

Service fee change

Dear Applicants, Please be aware that from November 15th 2019 the new exchange rate is established by the Belgium Embassy. Therefore Visa, Service and Added Value Service fees will be changed. Please follow this link for more details

Contribution covering administrative costs for Long stay visas

Please be aware that from June 1st, 2019 administrative fees will be changed.

New amounts for applications:

  • EUR 62.00 instead of EUR 60.00;
  • EUR 204.00 instead of EUR 200.00;
  • EUR 358.00 instead of EUR 350.00.

Biometric data capture for a long stay type D visa

As of 01/12/2018 the Belgian diplomatic and consular posts will register the biometric data (10 fingerprints and passport picture) of third country nationals applying for a long stay type D visa to Belgium including children aged 6 or older, except if it is physically impossible to take the fingerprints.
